I frequently get asked how I determine my prices. Of course it’s based on different things: the complexity of the design, which CMS platform will be used, and additional graphics like logos etc, just to name a few. Often people do not understand the steps involved or the complexity of designing for the web. Many things are involve from designing the actual graphic design in PhotoShop/Illustrator to coding the pages and making sure they work in different browsers.

Ok, so yo don’t think you can have a great design with CSS and web Standards. In this day an age there are so many possibilities! Many people and companies are realizing that web standard are not going away and it’s time to get on board. This doesn’t mean that your site has to be boring.
Zen Garden is a great site that shows what can be done with CSS. All the examples in the CSS Zen Garden have the same XHTML and the artist can only change the CSS. Browse through the garden and see the possibilities.
There are also many different sites that showcase sites that are done with web standards. Check out Design Shack , CSS Beauty or CSS Vault for more inspiration. CSS and standards based web design is the best of all worlds.
